A retired physician and a Vermonter, I am an advocate for health and sustainability.  An alpine ski racer thru college, I have maintained my fitness throughout the years largely through bicycling and running.  Other interests include piano playing, spiritual & mental health, nature and photography. 2017-2019, I coached ski racing to 9-10 year olds at Sugar Bowl, in the Tahoe region of California.  I have a 23 yo daughter and a 19 yo son who are in school in CA and NY, respectively.  My motivation for being on the TTC board is to promote community and health, and to become aware of the active and playful people of Corvallis, to which I moved in the summer of 2021.  I am inspired by those who persistently participate in the development of their chosen fields.

I have been playing at Timberhill for about 12 years (wow, didn’t realize it was that long!).  It often feels like a second home.  I have 3 kids (20, 18 and 14).  My 18 year old played at Timberhill for years and is now going to play at University of Denver. I work part time for a chemical engineering company.  I have worked in finance, marketing, business development and program development in the computer software and aviation industries.  I have also been a director for a non-profit here in town.  I have served on a board for another local non-profit and am looking forward to board service for Timberhill.

I am a passionate tennis fan and have been playing tennis since I was a teenager.  I joined TTC in March 2021 after moving to Corvallis from southern California.  I believe in serving the community in which I live and serving in leadership positions of organizations where appropriate, which is why I am interested in joining the board of TTC and appreciate the nomination.  Since I moved to Corvallis after retiring following a 33 year career as a commercial banker, I have joined the Rotary Club of Greater Corvallis and became an adjunct professor of finance and accounting at Linn-Benton Community College.

I believe my business experience, education, and leadership positions I have held in other organizations will allow me to well serve our members at TTC as a board member.  I am a past chairman and emeritus board member of Inland Action, the premier economic development organization in inland southern California and currently serve as its treasurer.  I chaired Business Partners, an organization that formed a working alliance between the business community and the College of Business at my alma mater CSU San Bernardino.  I am also a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board and the Philanthropic Foundation at CSUSB serving on its advocacy and finance committees.  I earned BA and MBA degrees in finance plus a post-baccalaureate accounting certificate from CSUSB.  I also continue to work with business clients and underwrite commercial credit for banks in southern California through my own business advisory and consulting firm, while looking to expand my services here in Corvallis.
